#AtoZChallenge | W is for Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Snow is prettiest right after it falls. Once it’s on the ground for a few days, it immediately starts getting dirtied up with life and loses that pristine whiteness. But, right after a storm? It is incredibly beautiful.

My favorite winter scene is once the storm has stopped leaving behind a snow covered landscape.  When every part of nature is draped in white it’s magical. I especially love seeing trees turned completely white by the clinging snow.

Eventually the sun melts the snow from the trees and, while you still have the snow covered ground, the rest of the landscape loses just a little bit of the magic.

Do you have a favorite winter scene?

I’m participating in a Blogging A-Z Challenge for April 2018. I will be posting new content every day this month except most Sundays. Each post is associated with a letter of the alphabet, starting with A and ending with Z. My theme for the challenge is Winters in Maine. To read more of my A to Z posts, click HERE.

I love snow, especially when it covers up all the crap out in the back garden. We had so much of it this year, i actually got sick of it. The whole country ground to a halt and there were killings in the supermarket over loaves of bred and milk…roll on sunshine is all I’m saying 😉

Such a beautiful time – right after a snow fall! Love your photos – the snow piled on each branch speaks to the calm in the air.

My favorite for photographing (but not walking or driving) is right after an ice storm. The icicles hanging from branches are amazing, especially if the sun is shining. Thankfully, it has been many years since I experienced any of this but I can still see the beauty.

I took some beautiful, Christmas-y pictures of Choppy in the snow – ones like these, with the snow hanging on the branches in a way that makes you wish it was winter every day.

Unfortunately, I took said pictures last Wednesday, when it should have been warmish and not snowy.
