  • #atozchallege | L is for Lobster with a View
Lobster is my favorite food. Probably not a surprise for a girl from Maine although it’s not loved by all Mainers – honestly. I have a childhood friend who won’t touch it. But, for me, it’s my favorite and I thoroughly enjoy it. One of the first comments that my future … Continue reading #atozchallege | L is for Lobster with a View
  • #AtoZChallenge | Macrame hanging planter to bring a little 70s vibe into my life
Each decade has a vibe. The 1970s had a lot going on. Disco was born, platform shoes soared in popularity and harvest gold was in every kitchen. They’re also the first decade I remember. They defined most of my childhood. When I told my husband I was going to make … Continue reading #AtoZChallenge | Macrame hanging planter to bring a little 70s vibe into my life
  • #AtoZChallenge | Name tags for my herbs
I bought a set of unfinished wooden plant markers many years ago. I didn’t know when I would use them but I thought the curved design was unique and elegant. Each spring I bring home flowers and herbs, and replant them into ceramic containers that decorate my deck. I’m always … Continue reading #AtoZChallenge | Name tags for my herbs
  • #AtoZChallenge | Origami peace doves to add some whimsy to my windows
For our most recent GISH hunt, I folded an origami peace dove for one of the challenges. I really loved how it came out and the peace dove quickly became one of my favorite origami shapes. I liked the dove so much that I decided to create an entire flight … Continue reading #AtoZChallenge | Origami peace doves to add some whimsy to my windows

First #CSA flower share of the summer. Makes me happy to have fresh flowers every week. It’s that time of year again! Picked up our seedlings from @bumblerootorganicfarm One of my favorite days of the year #MaineMapleSunday !! Yummy waffles with maple syrup, mimosas and a visit to the #sugarshack Stocked up on some maple syrup and other maple infused treats for later too. Icy trails today but this guy didn’t mind. Winter was late but it has finally arrived in #maine. We had to head into Portland for a quick errand. It’s definitely messy out here. Looking forward to getting home and hunkering down. I’m taking the #TravelforTomorrow pledge to try and travel more consciously and sustainably. First step was purchasing these filtration water bottles for our upcoming trip to Cambodia. 💧 Tried a few stouts tonight. Stayed local today for a nice fall hike. While the colors are muted this year there was still lots to see on the trail. Yes, the trails are wet and the mushrooms are plentiful. This one has become a bowl to catch the next round of rain. Hike on Silver Brook Trail by Broadturn Farm. Trail was a bit on the muddier side - no surprise with all the rain - but there was a small waterfall along the trail. Food truck fun before a summer show at Thompson’s Point. So happy to get a hike in today. And, it was the perfect temps for a hike on the Falmouth Nature Trail. Pink margaritas to get us in the mood for the Barbie Movie. Neville isn’t the only one happy to finally have (some) sunshine and a good beach day. First boat ride is the season. Somebody’s ready for summer fun. Fun with filters. Makes this lovely sunset in the BJs parking lot even better and so much more dramatic. Stopped by the Dana Warp Mill for the Art Walk. Always love the chance to see the amazing things created by local artisans. I reorganized our game closet and realized when I was done that in order to get the jenga game out you have to remove it carefully so the rest of the games won’t come crashing down. Picked up our seedlings yesterday from @bumblerootorganicfarm and couldn’t resist treating myself to some tulips. So excited for my csa flower share this year. Clam chowder and an Allagash White - the perfect pairing. Huot’s has opened for the season. Stopped by #oob on Friday for some pizza and fries. It tasted like summer. The docks are in and summer is within reach.
