#atozchallenge | Reflections on my First Time

I survived my first A to Z Blogging Challenge and I’m feeling pretty happy with myself. I was confident that I would finish as I’ve always had good follow through on projects, but the real question was would I scrape by and limp towards the finish line. While I feel like I did in fact finish strong, I had to step back and wait a week before tackling this reflections post so maybe there was a small bit of limping at the end.

Being new to blogging I had set some personal goals with participating in my first challenge.

Ice Bar

Chilling at the Portland Harbor Hotel Ice Bar 2016

I don’t like to be cold. I spend the winter months sitting on top of a space heater, or cuddled up by the propane fireplace, but last year I discovered something about myself. I actually love outside winter activities. It makes it all the more fun when I head back inside to warm up after some exhilarating time in the cold.

So, with that in mind, I took the plunge and bought tickets to last month’s Ice Bar at the Portland Harbor Hotel. I’ve been fascinated with ice bars for a while but had never actually gone to one. This was my year. We ended up getting tickets for Thursday night because Friday and Saturday night’s tickets were already sold out. Apparently, I’m not the only one who embraces winter in Maine. Blogging A to Z

Maine A-Z | Blogging Challenge 2016

I thought a good way to get my blog off the ground would be to participate in some blogging challenges. One particular challenge that caught my eye was the “Blogging from A to Z Challenge” scheduled for April 2016.

I have always loved A-Z challenges. The first scrapbook I ever made was an A-B-C one. I love the creativity that comes out of working with constraints. I also like that this blogging challenge requires daily posts, other than on Sundays, for the entire month of April which will help me to build a strong foundation for my blog.
